UT – A school district located in St. George, Utah, hired an ICC Certified Elite Installer to network their new campus. The district required reliable and high-speed Category 5e (CAT5e), Category 6 (CAT6), and fiber optic structured cabling systems. The installer connected 600 data drops and pulled over 100,000 feet of ICC CAT5e and CAT6 Plenum rated bulk cable throughout the campus. Blue CAT5e plenum cable was used to identify voice and telephone applications, while white plenum cable identified data applications. The work area utilized ICC’s Decorex faceplate because of its contemporary design. The work area also used ICC’s faceplate with a 45-degree angled port because it helps reduce cable stress. To reduce material cost, the installer decided to purchase keystone jacks in 400-Packs. Furthermore, a free JackEasy tool was included in each carton of jacks. The tool can save labor by terminating all four pairs of twisted wires, simultaneously, and with just one squeeze. Next, the Elite Installer designed the equipment room using ICC’s line of racks and cable management. Eight 7’ distribution racks were mounted on the floor. Blank patch panels were mounted and configured with CAT5e and CAT6 keystone jacks. Some other additions were fiber optic enclosures equipped with slide-out trays and windows. The enclosures were configured with SC duplex adapter panels and blank adapter panels for future upgrades. After the installation, the Elite Installer emailed ICC the 15-year performance warranty registration form with their invoices to register the cabling system. ICC issued a proof-of-warranty certificate within 24 hours of submission.
