An ICC Elite Installer completed a 170-unit multi-family cabling project in San Francisco using ICC’s end-to-end structured cabling system.
The system included CAT6 CMR riser cable, keystone jacks, patch panels, wall plates, and residential enclosures with connectivity modules—providing the installer with everything needed to complete the infrastructure efficiently and within code.
With a crew of 10 technicians, the installer completed the installation across all units. With 24 years in low-voltage, access control, and fiber work, the team was familiar with large-scale structured cabling projects. ICC products were selected for their compatibility, proven performance, and 15-Year Performance Warranty.
In total, the project involved 1,702 drops, 1,963 CAT6 terminations, and 1,152 patch panel ports, reflecting the full scale of the structured cabling system built across all 170 units.
Structured Cabling System Overview
The project included:
-
165,000 feet of CAT6 CMR riser-rated cable
-
1,963 CAT6 and CAT6A keystone jacks
-
Modular blank patch panels in both 24- and 48-port
-
A mix of 1-port and 4-port wall plates for 878 outlet locations
-
170 residential enclosures with CAT6 data, voice, and splitter modules
-
1,575 F-Type connectors for coaxial service
-
300-pair 110 blocks and wall-mount brackets for voice distribution and rack support
Installer Feedback
★★★★★ “Using this for PoE cameras. So far, so good. A good cable, the color coding is easy to identify. It tests well with the connectors, and it pulls well enough. As good as I have used and better than some.”
★★★★★ “Great signal quality. The pure copper and tight windings of the pairs do wonders for the performance tests! This cable is by far the least tangle-prone I’ve worked with in the past 3 years of running Ethernet.”
All components used in the project were part of ICC’s end-to-end structured cabling system and are backed by ICC’s 15-Year Performance Warranty. Products are tested to meet NEC fire codes, UL safety standards, and performance requirements—supporting smooth inspections and long-term reliability for multi-family builds.
