A High School Awards a Cabling Contract to an ICC Elite Installer

ICC Success Stories

MI – An ICC Elite Installer was awarded a cabling contract from a high school in Michigan. The installer used an ICC Category 6 (CAT 6) structured cabling system to replace CAT 5 and CAT 5e cabling throughout the campus. The project included the main building along with two other buildings. A total of 572 data drops were installed.

The system extended from the main cross-connect in the telecommunications room to the outlets in the classrooms and administrative offices. The connectivity consisted of 160,000 feet of CAT 6 riser cable in white and 1,300 CAT 6 keystone jacks in white, green, and orange. The jacks were terminated and installed into 24 and 48-Port modular patch panels, station ID faceplates, and 1-Port surface mount boxes. The installer used modular blank inserts in black to cover unused patch panel ports.

After the installation, the installer tested and passed the system’s permanent link to TIA® spec.
