A Homebuilder Awards a Cabling Contract to an ICC Elite Installer

ICC Success Stories

WY – An ICC Elite Installer was awarded a cabling contract for a senior living center in Wyoming. The installer used ICC’s structured cabling systems to build the communications network for data, voice, and video services.

The installer pulled 20,000 feet of Category 6 (CAT 6) plenum cable in blue and white. The cabling ran from the telecommunications room to sixty-two apartments. A 7-foot cable management rack and swing frame rack in the telecom room supported the main cross-connects on the floor and wall, respectively. The connectivity consisted of CAT 6 24-Port patch panels and 110-Type patch panels

A 28-inch residential wiring enclosure was installed into each apartment. The enclosure is made of ABS plastic to be durable and Wi-Fi friendly. It included a CAT 6 Data Module for broadband internet access to eight computers or Ethernet devices, a Voice Module for distributing four phone lines to eight locations, and a Video Module for splitting cable TV, HDTV, satellite, or antenna signals to six locations. CAT 6 jacks, Voice jacks, and F-Type connectors were terminated, configured into single-gang faceplates, and installed at the outlets in the living areas.

After the installation, the installer tested and passed the system’s permanent links to TIA® spec.
